A documentary about consumerism worth watching. It's not very sophisticated and doesn't provide any new information but that may be just about the right dose for contemporary consumers...
This is about an experiment.
One without numbers and statistics.
No documented data – just the experience.
Assumption:
Individuals in developed countries are consuming far to much and thereby using up the limited resources of this planet.
Experiment:
I want to find out, whether I as an individual can reduce my consumption without lowering my standard of living drastically or becoming a treehugger (though I must admit that I am quite fond of trees and touched several on their lower parts).
My goal is to use easily accessible information to help me decide what to buy/support and what not, as well as how to change my behaviour for the good of de-consumption.
My one and only rule: No ideologies!

I live in Japan,
I work 75h a week,
I earn less than average.
